Jay bridges the gap between genre and documentary and has played at all the top festivals with TWISTED, BEAUTY DAY and HOW TO BUILD A TIME MACHINE. He is the creator and director of the top non-fiction series on Shudder, CURSED FILMS, a non-exploitive, docu-style series about so-called “cursed films.” The first season covered the obvious subject like POLTERGIEST, THE OMEN, THE CROW, etc. But instead of lingering on the more morbid aspects of the subject, it really turned into a skeptical and meditative take on the nature of filmmaking and the very real pressures and challenges of artistry. Jay’s most recent work was on Season 2 of CURSED FILMS for Shudder.
